Welcome to 1912AI. Please read these Terms of Use (the “Terms”) carefully before accessing or using the 1912AI website, platform, forms, virtual assistants, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.
1912AI is a legal technology platform designed to facilitate connections between individuals and businesses seeking legal services and participating lawyers or law firms. 1912AI is not a law firm and does not directly provide legal services. The Platform operates as a marketplace and matching tool.
Any legal services you receive are provided by independent, licensed lawyers or law firms. 1912AI is not a party to any lawyer-client relationship, engagement agreement, retainer agreement, or other professional relationship between you and any lawyer or law firm. Participating lawyers are independent service providers and are not employees or agents of 1912AI.
The Platform is currently intended for users in Canada, excluding Quebec. If you are located in Quebec, please do not use the Platform at this time.
1912AI is operated by TRi-3 Group Canada Corporation. If you have any questions about the Platform or these Terms, please contact us at info@1912ai.com.
To use the Platform, you must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. By accessing or using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
You may be required to register for an account to access certain features of the Platform. By registering, you represent and warrant that all information you provide is truthful, accurate, current, and complete. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities conducted through your account. You agree to notify us promptly if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account or any other security breach.
The content, information, and services provided on or through the Platform—including informational materials, lawyer-matching results, AI-generated responses, and virtual-assistant interactions—are provided solely for general informational and service-matching purposes. They do not constitute legal advice, a legal opinion, or other professional advice.
1912AI, including its artificial intelligence, automation tools, and virtual assistants, is not a lawyer and cannot replace the professional judgment of a licensed lawyer.
Responses or suggestions generated by artificial intelligence may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or inappropriate for your specific circumstances. AI tools cannot reliably assess all legal deadlines, limitation periods, procedural requirements, or emergency situations. You should not rely on AI-generated content for urgent or time-sensitive legal matters.
AI-generated information is for general informational purposes only and is not legal advice. For legal advice about your specific circumstances, consult a licensed lawyer.
Accessing the Platform, completing a form, using a virtual assistant, submitting a request for legal services, or receiving a lawyer match does not, by itself, create a lawyer-client relationship between you and 1912AI or between you and any lawyer or law firm identified through the Platform.
A lawyer-client relationship is formed only when you and the participating lawyer or law firm formally confirm the engagement in accordance with applicable professional requirements.
1912AI may assist in matching users with lawyers based on factors including, but not limited to, location, type of legal matter, transaction type, language preferences, lawyer experience, and service availability.
However, 1912AI does not guarantee that:
You are solely responsible for deciding whether to retain any lawyer identified through the Platform.
1912AI may display information provided by participating lawyers or law firms, including areas of practice, professional experience, languages, service capabilities, biographies, and other professional information.
Although 1912AI takes reasonable steps to maintain accurate Platform information, a lawyer’s licensing status, practice areas, availability, and other professional information may change. 1912AI does not endorse or recommend any particular lawyer or law firm. Before formally retaining a lawyer, you should independently verify the lawyer’s professional status and credentials through the applicable law society or regulatory authority.
By submitting information through the Platform for the purpose of obtaining legal services or lawyer matching, you authorize 1912AI to:
1912AI does not sell your personal information. For more information about how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and, where applicable, transfer personal information, please review our Privacy Policy.
1912AI seeks to maintain accurate and current information on the Platform, but we do not guarantee that all information will always be complete, accurate, current, or error-free.
We also do not guarantee that the Platform will operate without interruption or delay, remain continuously available or secure, or be free from technical failures, network interruptions, software errors, or failures of third-party services.
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, 1912AI disclaims all express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services, including those operated by participating lawyers, law firms, payment processors, or other service providers.
The inclusion of a third-party link does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee by 1912AI of that third party’s website, content, services, privacy practices, or business practices. When you access or use a third-party website or service directly, you should review and comply with that third party’s applicable terms and privacy policies. 1912AI is not responsible for the acts or omissions of third parties.
During the pilot launch period, 1912AI currently provides its lawyer-matching service to users free of charge. Any legal fees are determined and charged directly by the lawyer or law firm you retain. 1912AI does not currently receive, collect, hold, or process legal fees on behalf of users or lawyers.
1912AI reserves the right to introduce fees for Platform services in the future. Any such changes will be disclosed before they become effective. Your continued use of a paid Platform service after the applicable fees and terms have been disclosed will constitute acceptance of those fees and terms.
If 1912AI introduces paid services in the future, payments may be processed by third-party payment processors. Your use of those payment services may be subject to the applicable third party’s own terms, conditions, and policies.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
For any and all claims arising out of or relating to your use of the Platform, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or any other legal theory, the aggregate liability of 1912AI to you will not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you actually paid to 1912AI for the relevant services during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the first claim; or (b) CAD $100.00. If you have not paid any fees to 1912AI, the maximum liability will be CAD $100.00.
Under no circumstances will 1912AI be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of goodwill, loss of data, business interruption, or other intangible losses, even if 1912AI has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in this Section 11 excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence resulting in personal injury or death, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect any statutory rights available to you under applicable consumer protection legislation.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless 1912AI and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or relating to:
1912AI reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you. You may not settle any such matter without the prior written consent of 1912AI.
You agree not to use the Platform:
All content available through the Platform—including text, graphics, logos, images, software, and the overall design and layout—is owned by 1912AI or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You are granted only a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for lawful purposes. Unless you have received prior written permission from us, you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, transmit, publish, commercially exploit, or otherwise use Platform content, except that you may:
Any unauthorized use, copying, or distribution of Platform content is prohibited. 1912AI and its associated names, logos, and marks are trademarks of 1912AI and may not be used without prior written permission.
1912AI reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time and for any reason, with or without prior notice, including where you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will immediately end. Termination does not release you from any obligations or liabilities incurred before termination.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform should first be submitted to the parties for good-faith discussions. If the dispute cannot be resolved within thirty (30) days, either party may bring the dispute before the courts located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, any claim brought by you must be brought in your individual capacity and not as part of a class, representative, or consolidated proceeding. If you are a consumer within the meaning of applicable consumer protection legislation, nothing in this provision limits any rights that cannot lawfully be waived under that legislation.
1912AI may modify or update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will publish the revised Terms on this page and update the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Platform after revised Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. You are responsible for reviewing these Terms periodically for changes.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other documents expressly incorporated into these Terms by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and 1912AI regarding your use of the Platform and supersede all prior discussions, understandings, representations, and agreements relating to that use. If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
